The French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA in French):

It is the institution that will make a decision on your asylum application. If your application is rejected, you can contest this decision.
 can accept or reject your asylum application.

If your request is accepted:

France recognizes that you need to be protected. You will be entitled to a residence permit (4 or 10 years). This residence permit is renewable. It allows you to stay on French territory and to work.

You can request that your parents, accompanied by your brothers and sisters under the age of 18, join you in France.

If your request is refused:

You can contest this decision before the National Court of Asylum (CNDA in French) 

National Court of Asylum Law (CNDA in French): 

It is a court which deals with appeals against decisions of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA in French).
 within 30 days. The court may overturn the decision and grant you protection, or uphold the rejection decision.

It is advisable to be assisted by a lawyer before the CNDA. You can ask the court for free legal aid within 15 days.

If you are no longer able to challenge the decision to reject your application, you can nevertheless request a reexamination 

The request for reexamination:

is possible if events come to light which confirm your fears in the event of return to your country of origin.

These could be events that took place after the decision, or that you were not aware of when you applied. Examples: change in the situation in your country of origin; one of your relatives has obtained protection for fears related to your situation; you have not given the real reason for your fear of returning to your country of origin, etc.

OFPRA can then re-examine your asylum application.
 if events come to light that confirm your fears.
